Her most prominent feature are her bright blue eyes, and she tends to play them up with makeup. Her hair is worn long, with bangs, though she switches off between straightening it and letting it curl.
Zoë is a girly-girl; she will always choose skirts over jeans. Her sense of style is on the extremely preppy side - she likes tweeds, polka dots, and stripes, and is very much a Park Avenue Princess in appearance She loves shoes, and has a vast collection that takes up an entire closet. She's not someone you really ever see mussed up; her shirts are neatly pressed, her shoes are polished, her hair is neat. She wears an heirloom claddagh ring on her left finger at all times.
personality :
Detailed Personality:
The first impression Zoë gives people is of a sweet, smart girl, on the quieter side, and it isn't an inaccurate impression. Zoë is all of those things, but she has a sharper, cooler side as well. She has a cruel, bitchy streak, and in particular is skilled at verbal sparring; Zoë is highly observant, and ruthless about picking out the insecurities she's noted in people and using them against them. She tends to only do this to those she deems deserving, though it could be said that she's not entirely objective about who "deserves" it.
She is a perfectionist, particularly academically. She doesn't tolerate doing less than superior work in all of her classes, and while her particular areas of expertise are mathematics and languages, she has excelled in all her classes. She has a particular affinity for numbers and mathematics, and possesses a cool, analytical thought process that come off as cold to some people. Zoë has a slow-burning but violent temper as well, which when it goes off tends to culminate in lots of broken things, and she tends to be the type of person who holds grudges for long periods of time.
Zoë is almost fanatically loyal to people she decides to be loyal to - this includes her father, who has many faults she's willfully blind to and her half-brother Hadyn. Certainly it also includes her new husband, Victor, who she married in Hong Kong directly after graduation from college this year.
She is a very stubborn and determined, and cold about achieving her goals, and due to her upbringing as the daughter of a crime lord, her moral compass is a bit skewed. She's learned that ruthless is what gets the job done, and so ruthless is what she is - but carefully hidden under her sweet face.
history:
Zoë was a girl born with a very interesting sort of silver spoon in her mouth. The daughter of Charlotte Huntly - from a very old New York family - and Georgios Kattalakis, a Greek "businessman" with vast holdings, she grew up on the Upper East Side of New York in a household where nearly every whim was catered to. In part, this was because Georgios was a single parent for most of Zoë's childhood; he and Charlotte divorced when Zoë was three, and though the custody battle was protracted and ugly, Georgios' contacts were such that he was able to win sole custody.
Charlotte wasn't much of a presence in her daughter's life after that.
Her closest friend growing up and to this day was Hadyn Novak, the boy next door, but unlike in many stories, they weren't destined to move from close friends to romance; instead, when they were both twelve - after Hadyn limped over to their house after a violent altercation with his father - Georgios told them the reason that the Kattalakis marriage had crumbled and one of the reasons that Hadyn and Dwayne Novak had such a contentious relationship: Georgios had fathered both of them. After that, Georgios did his best to keep a sharp eye on his son, not hesitating to use his influence to keep Hadyn within his sphere, and Hadyn and Zoë only grew closer. Truthfully, Georgios had always been more of a father to Hadyn than Dwayne had, and the Kattalakis house - though filled, often, with dangerous looking men toting dangerous looking firearms - was an essentially warmer household than the Novaks.
Zoë and Hadyn remained friends even as they went to separate private high schools in New York, with Zoë entering Nightingale-Bamford and graduating with honors in 2009. After that, she entered the University of Pennsylvania with her sights set on a double-major in Accountancy and French and a magna cum laude notation on her degree at the end of it. After that, she planned to enter the Kattalakis organization in the finance department, somewhere Georgios had let her work when in high school.
Her plans took a sharp right turn when she was a two weeks away from her twentieth birthday, and Georgios brought her to Hong Kong on a business trip. There wasn't much for her to do; certainly Kattalakis' pretty daughter wasn't taken seriously yet in the board rooms. So she wandered Hong Kong alone, and late in the evening on their first day there, she wandered into a Scottish pub on a dim side street where a tall man was singing behind the bar. The pub was empty that night, or perhaps things would not have progressed so quickly, and Georgios was tied up with business all night, or perhaps he would have stopped things from progressing so quickly. As it was, though, Zoe found herself at an oddly luxurious apartment after the pub closed, and woke up the next morning curled up against Victor Fox.
It was a bit of a whirlwind relationship that continued via emails and frequent trips back to Hong Kong after Zoë left to go back to school, and her senior year she arranged to study abroad in Hong Kong for the entire year. Instead of staying in the dorms, she moved in with Victor, and after her graduation in May, they married and she relocated to Hong Kong permanently.
Georgios is not entirely thrilled with this state of things.
